Making Friends

Never leave your camera at home you never know what you will see. Well I did leave my camera at home but I did go home and get it. This turtle actually moved pretty fast... for a turtle. It was over in the grass when Bailey and I first saw him. Bailey was very curious and sniffed and waged her tail. The turtle pulled its head in and waited for us to get bored. When we came back Bailey didn't seem to phase it. Its head never went in it shell it just stared her down.

Most photos of the Grand Canyon, including most of the other ones I took this day, show the beautiful blue sky and fluffy white clouds over the rugged canyon. I wanted to show the shaddows falling across the rocky relief of the canyon.

Go where the locals tell you

While in Jerome, Az a couple of locals told us about to take 89 north to Flagstaff instead of 17 like most GPS units will tell you. It was a beautiful drive through Sedona and then through some beautiful canyons and switch backs and finally up to this look out.

A long time coming

So after a week long trip and an en expected over night layover due to an overbooked flight we are finally home. Pictures to come soon.
