Ever Changing

Laura pointed out that some of the buds on this flower have red petals on them although none of them have bloomed yet.

You've Come A Long Way Baby

This is a flower I have been watching for a while now (See: Some Are More Persistent Than Others and After The Rains). The ground crew they have in our complex chopped it down a couple weeks ago and I was scratching my head wondering what would become of this poor plant. Well it has shot up and flowered.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Because it probably isn't.
Are little cars making a come back? The little car on the left is a Fiat. It is about the size of a Smart car and pretty stylish. But if the big truck on the right hit it on the highway the driver probably wouldn't even notice.
I hope more people stop buying huge trucks and SUVs and start buying smaller more efficient cars.

Check out my Shared tab

To see a crazy new technology for digital imaging.

Which one would you choose?

Since you are reading this I think it is safe to say you would choose neither. However Bailey being a dog choose the foot. We bought these at a farmers market from a lady that had natural treats and food for cats and dogs. They were a little expensive but Bailey is a good dog and deserves something special every once in a while.

Just for fun I used the "scary movie" filter in Vingette and cropped it to 16:9. ewww scary!

More From The Farmers Market

Fun Filled Saturday

We got up this morning and met up with my parents and Laura's mother and with to the farmers market in Forest Hill Park, happy Father's Day dad you want to go grocery shopping with us?
It was warm out but a very pleasant trip.

After the family time and a short stop at a one year olds birthday party Laura and I stopped in at the Northside Grill for dinner. They have a very nice patio and I enjoyed a nice quiet dinner with my beautiful wife.

Some Are More Persistent Than Others

These flowers were all cut off a couple weeks ago and this one stalk has come back with a vengeance.

Blue Light Special...

...on faith.
On a trip to Wal-Mart I spotted this nun out front. She was facing me and that would have been a better shot but I wasn't quick enough on the draw with my camera. I also didn't want to look like a nun stalker.

Me

Inspired by my friend Hal's birthday self portrait.
I have never been much on taking self portraits but I thought I would give it a shot.

Nature Walk In The Burbs

It is nice to be able to get away from the computer, even if it is only for a few minutes and it involves picking up dog poop, and enjoy the outside world.

A round of golf anyone? Disc golf that is.

I have not played disc golf in a very long time but we got out today and threw a round with some friends. Well I threw a round Laura went for a jog and then walked with us.

Watching The World Go By

Hamlet loves looking out the window. He was actually sleeping right before I took this picture. Right when I pointed the camera at him he looked up, sorry to wake you Hammy.
The light looked really good coming in the window so I had to get the shot.

Richmond Got Vodka!

I heard about this vodka a month or two ago but hadn't found it. Cirrus is a potato vodka made here in Richmond. Laura and I bought some sting ray bloodmary mix on our trip to the Eastern Shore so vodka was needed.

Hoover Dam

While Laura and me we driving from Flagstaff to Las Vegas we stopped at the Hoover Dam. It was a short stop because it was getting late and we needed to get to Vegas. When I got home i didn't see any exposures with the clouds visible. Luckily in Camera Raw I was able to bring them back, teaching me not to give up on an image so quickly.

Birthday Cake?

You don't see that face too often after a bite of birthday cake. You do however see it after a shot of birthday cake. My good friend Hal's birthday happened to fall on our Tuesday Pint Night so I was able to buy him a pint and watch him do this shot.

Earning My Wine

I had to earn my fun this weekend. Laura had a great idea to participate in Clean The Bay Day this weekend. So she picked a place on the eastern shore near a winery we wanted to visit. In order to get to the winery we had to pick up trash first, the group ended up picking up around 400 lbs of trash off the beach and two kittens. It felt good to help out the environment and get a little trip out of it at the same time.
The cleanup was at Kiptopeke State Park and it is a very nice state park, very well kept. They had some old barges set off the shore I didn't ask anyone about them but I guess they were supposed to break the wake of passing ships or something.
Thanks Laura

While I was Waiting

I got my car inspected Wednesday, this was the first time in a long time that old car didn't coast me over $400 to pass inspection, while I waited I stopped in a coffee shop up the block from the garage.

Got a Quarter

Laura sent me a link to a World Wildlife Fund photo contest and said "you'd better enter THIS one!” referring to the other one she told me about that I missed the submission deadline.
I took this on Gwynn's Island back in 2007 and isn't the initial one that grabbed my eye when I first processed these photos. I had another one I liked but over time I found things I didn't like about it, wishing I had moved the camera down a little focused more here than there etc. etc.
So we will see if I get my photos submitted in time... at least I got a blog post out of it.

Exploring The Pond

While walking Bailey around in the heat we stopped to get a couple pictures of the lily pads in the lake.
