Poor Birdie
This post is inspired by my Friend Hal over at weaverwerx. He has post a couple of pictures of road kill on the side of the road he comes across on his hikes.
Everytime Hal posts one of his road kill photos it reminds me of a man I met in London while waiting in line to get tickets to an exhibit at the National Gallery. The guy was a photography teacher at Newcastle University and during our time in line he told me he had been to America once. He had an American friend that drove him around the desert in Arizona and Nevada while he took pictures. There was something a little off in the way he said it but I didn't know what it was. Later I looked him up on line and the photos he took in the desert were all of road kill on the side of the road. He flew all the way from England to America to take pictures of road kill. I really wish I could remember his name.

I am not sure what killed this poor little birdie but it got at least three of them. I assume it was either some other bird went after the nest or someone destroyed the nest for some reason.

Ashland Strawberry Festival
We went drove up to Ashland, VA for their annual Strawberry Festival. Clive has a what I thought was not so little air cannon. then I saw this guy walking around. I need to make one of these.
The festival was on the campus of Randolph Macon College. Laura has told me that the have an an observatory there and that she always wanted to go. So while were there we walked by it...
... not what I was expecting. If all three of us went to look at the stars one night I think I would have to hang a leg out the front door so we could all fit.
