Trip with Two Bridges

Today when I left work the traffic report was awful. Google said it was going to take me an extra 40 minutes to get home via 64. And I know every minute that ticket by the traffic backs up more and more.
So I went across the James River bridge and took route 10 to 5. It was a nice drive through the country. It still took longer than usual but I kept moving and wasn't stuck on the parking lot that is otherwise know as interstate 64.

You Rock Hal

My friend Hal, weverwerx, just got back from Japan. He brought me this rock back from his hike up Mount Fuji, it's a pretty cool birthday present.
Then I got home and my son and Wife had made me cheesecake. This makes for a very good birthday.

Day out at the disc golf course

Clive and I had a great time out at the disc golf course.

I was fixing dinner and the light coming through the bowls caught my eye. This is not the first time this has happened. I really like these bowls and how the light shines through them.

Clive and I played a few holes of disk golf and played at the play ground today. Bryan Park is a beautiful park and I aways enjoy my time with my son.

Between my long commute and my son's disdain for naps I don't always get to spend a lot of time with him in the evenings. Today he took a nap!
Taken out of context the area around our condo can be very pretty and fun to explore.

I took a picture of a tree with a similar fungus growing on it last time Clive and I went to the park a played a round of disk golf. Today every tree we passed with this type of fungus growing Clive wanted me to take a picture of it... so I did. This is one of them.

Clive likes to turn the reading light on the lamp while he eats. It makes for a dramatic light.

WATER TOWER!

My son loves water towers. He yells "WATER TOWER" every time he sees one while we are driving around. I drove by this one on my way to work so I took a picture and sent it to him.

Making Friends

Kids make friends so much easier than adults. They don't bring any preconceived ideas, hate or baggage. They meet they hold hands and walk away with out any hard feelings if it doesn't work out or they wait in line for the slide if they like each other. Clive also had bubbles and that goes a long way with the ladies in the toddler world.

The 5th of July

Today would have been my father's birthday. I was lucky enough to spend it with my family.

Fungus among us

Clive and I got out and played a round of disc golf this morning. It was a beautiful morning and Clive seems to really like walking the course with me.
