Making Friends

Never leave your camera at home you never know what you will see. Well I did leave my camera at home but I did go home and get it. This turtle actually moved pretty fast... for a turtle. It was over in the grass when Bailey and I first saw him. Bailey was very curious and sniffed and waged her tail. The turtle pulled its head in and waited for us to get bored. When we came back Bailey didn't seem to phase it. Its head never went in it shell it just stared her down.

Most photos of the Grand Canyon, including most of the other ones I took this day, show the beautiful blue sky and fluffy white clouds over the rugged canyon. I wanted to show the shaddows falling across the rocky relief of the canyon.

Go where the locals tell you

While in Jerome, Az a couple of locals told us about to take 89 north to Flagstaff instead of 17 like most GPS units will tell you. It was a beautiful drive through Sedona and then through some beautiful canyons and switch backs and finally up to this look out.

A long time coming

So after a week long trip and an en expected over night layover due to an overbooked flight we are finally home. Pictures to come soon.

What a strange trip it has been

Got up at 3:45am in Flagstaff to drive to the Grand Canyon, this was the view driving to the park at 5:30am.

After the Grand Canyon we drove to Las Vegas and this was the view walking out of our hotel at 11:36pm.

On our trip out west I suggested we go to Jerome, AZ to visit some wineries Laura was interested in and not to be out done or even to 1 or 100 up me she suggested we go to the Grand Canyon, thank you baby.


It was a beautiful day in a beautiful place with my beautiful wife.

Back On The Mountain

Revisiting my wedding weekend... I took this shot Sunday morning during early morning clean up (8am was early that morning). I really liked the twisted trees up on the mountain. Originally we were hoping for green leaves and flowers on the mountain but with the clouds and fog the trees worked.

Ready To Go

I got my passport in the mail today... Italy here I come. I am a little surprised I didn't wait until the last minute to get it and very happy that I didn't wait until the last minute to get it.

This little guy will have to go but he sure is working hard right now. Laura doesn't like wasps and this window is right next to our little porch. Laura prefers Mud Daubers so this guy loses out.

Walking The Dog Again

I am back home and everything is back to normal... well at least on the outside. Taking the Bailey out and looking around something to take a picture of is normal. Now the inside of the house is; still cluttered with unpacked boxes and bags, unsorted clothes and too many dishes. But we are getting back to normalcy.

Headed Home

After meeting my father and my friend Hal at Sarah's I headed back to Richmond. In my rear view was this huge rainbow.

The Morning After

Well the wedding weekend us over so no more excuses for not posting.
This was the view off the deck Sunday morning just before 9am. This was not the view Saturday evening during Laura and my wedding. A cloud had parked itself right in the mountain and we where right in the middle of it, but it was still a beautiful view nonetheless.
